Precision and versatility at low cost.

The Valon 5019 frequency synthesizer uses multiple phase lock loops to provide exceptionally low phase noise over the 10MHz to 20GHz range. The multiple loop technique also greatly reduced spurs while providing high resolution tuning precision. Calibrated output power may be accurately set from at least +13dBm down to -30dBm in 0.1dB steps.
The 5019 incorporates a number of ultra low noise internal voltage regulators driven by a high efficiency switching power supply allowing an input voltage range of 5 Volts ~ 15 Volts.
The internal TCXO provides ± 2ppm stability over the -20 ⁰C to +70 ⁰C temperature range. This internal reference can be also trimmed or calibrated using software commands. In addition the external reference input can accept ±3V electronic frequency control. In addition to the internal TCXO reference, any external reference from 5MHz to 100MHz that is a multiple of 0.2MHz may be applied.
The 5019 can be controlled through the provided USB port using any terminal program or our graphical user interface. A special interface port allows for a number of other communications protocols including Ethernet 10/100* and Serial TTL. A special USER port is also available for LIST mode frequency selection as well as timing and synchronizing sweeps modes.

5019 Maximum Power
An important specification of any RF source is maximum output power. The Valon 5019 provides typically greater than +17dBm (50mW) from 100MHz to 20GHz. This higher power is useful in a number of system applications such as driving mixer LOs and power amplifiers without the need for additional driver amplifiers. The plot shown here is the maximum output power taken from a large sample of 5019 synthesizers. The data is taken by setting the synthesizer to +20dBm which is the maximum power limit. Trace labeled Avg Max is the average value of the maximum power for the sample lot. Max Max is the maximum power recorded for the sample lot. Trace Min Max is the minimum power recorded for the sample lot. Also plotted is the current published specification for maximum power. |
